The Severn Bridge

Day 10: Monmouth - Tintern - Chepstow

That Sunday we started late, after the breakfast at 'Steeples'. We took another dog, 'Ginny' of Nick and Johnny with us, a real, rabbit-hunting Jack Russell. We started one after the other, Terence, myself, Sam, Shadow and Ginny first, we were followed and caught up later by Daryl and Jessie.

The walk along the river from Monmouth to Tintern Abbey is a spectacular one.

Everything is there, climbing, fields, woods, bridges, waterfalls, berries, Herons and a salmon jumping out of the water.

The landscapes were beautiful, the river more surprising us after every bend. We had a coffee-stop at Brockweir and a lunch at Tintern Abbey. Tintern Abbey was crowded because of all the tourists and a car boot sale. We were joined there by Joanna and Andrew and climbed a steep way uphill there.
